About the Southampton Renaissance Board

The Southampton Renaissance Board is a partnership forum and advisory board that provides a unified vision on growth, strategic skills, sustainable development and investment.

The Board is helping the city to navigate future socio-economic challenges and driving investments in people, infrastructure and the fabric of the City to create a new renaissance for Southampton.

The Board includes representatives from:

  • Southampton City Council
  • Associated British Ports
  • University of Southampton
  • Southampton Solent University
  • University Hospital Southampton
  • Southampton Football Club
  • Go South Coast
  • Go Southampton
  • Network Rail
  • Business South
  • Southampton Chamber of Commerce
  • Southampton Forward

Currently chaired by Professor Mark E Smith, Vice Chancellor at University of Southampton, and meeting at least 3 times per year, the Board utilises the collective strength of Southampton’s major organisations to address regional issues and work in partnership to secure economic growth across Southampton.

At present, the Board is working together on developing the Southampton Renaissance prospectus for change and delivery framework to identify key opportunities for regeneration and provide a road map to securing the investment needed to deliver for Southampton.
